Probably the hardest part of the whole setup was the install.  First let me tell you that I am no professional at this.  But I have installed countless car stereos.  But I truly hate running wires and hiding them.  Honestly I did not hide my wiring very well, and need to rip out all the seats and carpeting to hide everything better.

I chose to completely abandon the head unit, and install a 7" widescreen LCD instead.  The double din opening is ALMOST the perfect size to fit the screen.  Almost.  What I had to do was make a small frame around the screen to fill the space in between the screen and the dash.  The best I could do was cut up some Plexiglas and paint it black.  Then I notched it on the sides to fit over the clips on the back of the dash.  Then I glued the LCD to the plexi, and glued the plexi to the back of the dash.  This did require a tiny bit of clearanceing  behind the dash to fit the LCD screen, but nothing a dremel wouldn't take care of.  Also there was a controller board for the LCD that needed to be close to the LCD.  I put that in a cardboard box and sat it behind the screen in the dash.  Worked out well.  Here are some pics:
