4runner- Brakes
- Brakes are basically the same as what my '86 4runner had: http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/4runner/brakes/
Except for the following:
- ABS removed.
To kill the ABS light on the dash, remove the ABS computer near passeger's side kick panel and ABS relay on passenger's side front fender well
Removal of ABS also required a VSS to drive the speedometer, see transfer case page- Original master cylinder was a 2-bolt style, so I swapped out the brake booster for an older 4-bolt style so that I could use a Rockstomper style master cylinder adapter and GM master cylinder
- Sky Manufacturing rear disk brake conversion using 79-85 Monte Carlo front calipers and early '90's Chevy IFS 4wd rotors
* Banjo bolts on the the Monte Carlo calipers are 10mm, not 3/8"- Brake lines and fittings from Rock Equipment
- Removal of drum brakes required transfer case mounted e-brake conversion, see transfer case page
- Hawk HPS front brake pads
