4runner- Fuel Tank
- '80's-'90's Ford F-series auxilliary fuel tanks are perfect fit in the rear of a Toyota.
They hold about 20 gallons and have a nice low profile.
The Ford EFI fuel pump works with the Toyota EFI system, but the fuel level sender works differently
Lots of Ford tank swap info in this thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=484247- Filler tube was made from 2" mandrel U-bend exhaust tubing from Summit Racing
- The high pressure fuel line is 3/8" EFI fuel hose from the tank and attaches to the original rubber fuel hose with a double barbed fitting
- The fuel return and EVAP lines are standard 1/4" low pressure fuel hose.
- Tank is mounted to the new round tube crossmember (2.5" x .120") and the rear bumper using 1.5" x .188" strap over the top and bottom
- Level sender float was modified to make the guage read the proper direction
- Added a skid plate
