News:

As you probably know, the BigToyTrucks site is undergoing some changes. Steve (Deal?), the current/previous website owner, has decided that he no longer has the time or money to maintain the site.

It looks like Tony Iannarelli has put the site on his company's server, so it still exists.

I'm not sure of Tony's plans, but 4x4wire is "very interested" in helping us out with the BigToyTrucks site.  They have already added a T100/Tundra section to their bulletin board and started a new mailing list for us. 4x4wire's Toyota section has quickly become a great resource for technical info regarding Toyota trucks and 4runners. I'm hoping they can do the same for us with T100/Tundra-specific info. Much of 4x4wire's content is off-road related, but I don't think our section will have to be. The users needs/wants will probably dictate how it turns out. If things work out, I'll probably be doing some "editorial duties" for the T100/Tundra section. I've got some ideas of how I'd like to do some things, but mostly I'll need input from everybody else as to what we want.

I really like the "Ultimate Bulletin Board" format.  Its easy to use once you learn, and when you do, I think you'll like it too. Don't be afraid to check out the Pickups & 4Runners section and ask questions there too.  There are a lot of very knowledgeable, helpful people over there.

I'm not sure how much longer the current mailing list at lists.best.com is going to last or if Tony is planning on starting a new one, but this one is already here for us to use.  I've already subscribed and I hope everybody else will too.

Update 7/23/00: Currently the old "lists.best.com" mailing list is still working and it is still being used even though Steve cancelled it over a month ago.  The new mailing list at 4x4wire has had very little traffic since the old one still works.  The T100/Tundra bulletin board at 4x4wire is getting some regular use and "ToyTech" Jim Brink has been keeping up and answering some tech questions for people.  The BigToyTrucks site itself is still in limbo.  Tony is basically still waiting for Steve to transfer control before he can do anything.  In the mean time, it just sits there unchanged.

Update 9/18/00: The latest plan is for the BigToyTrucks site to get moved to 4x4wire in some way, shape, or form. I've tenatively been named the "acting managing editor" of the forthcoming Big Toyota Trucks section at 4x4wire and moderator of the bulletin board forum. The current www.bigtoytrucks.com site is down but I backed it up and for now it can be viewed at http://www.outdoorwire.com/4x4/toyota/btt/temp/old_btt/. The lists.best.com mailing list still seems to be working, but most users have switched over to and are using the new list.

Update 9/28/00: The old lists.best.com mailing list seems to have finally kicked the bucket...
