The almighty Detroit Locker installed in the rear axle. It's cliche, but a locker is easily the absolute best modification for offroad use.

Safety Seal Tire Repair Kit - this is indispensable!
Brighter backup lights. Those fancy bulbs are worthless if the light housing is dulling the light.
